Are you a contractor, consultant, or system integrator in need of a super solid, solid-state audio player? If you are, then Denon Professional has designed a couple things just for you -- the DN-F450R and DN-F650R solid-state audio recorders are the company's latest digitally-based, solid media products. With absolutely no moving parts onboard, the new recorders are reliable and maintenance-free.
The DN-F450R and DN-F650R solid-state audio players use stable solid-state media technology as the source medium. Both are able to record and read MP3 files and uncompressed WAV files to and from SD or SDHC cards (the DN-F650R also records to USB drives), and in turn provide recording capabilities that are much more reliable than recorders with a 'spinning" CD, according to the manufacturer. You can use the new solid-state audio players in many different venues or environments, such as in the studio, houses of worship, meetings, and conferences, or for broadcast applications.
The DN-F650R, housed in a compact 1U-rackspace enclosure, features RS-232c and USB keyboard control for integrated sound systems; numerous inputs and outputs, from AES / EBU to balanced XLR inputs and outputs, for nearly every application; and playback functions, including +/-12 percent pitch control, which is good for dance and fitness applications. What's more, the DN-F650R has an optional RC-F400 Remote Controller, which features a large LCD display and enhances the DN-F650's capability by providing an ergonomic control unit for instant playback of audio or sound effects; the remote controller and DN-F650 together would be perfect for live events, radio, television, and so forth, notes Denon.
Smaller than the DN-F650R, the new DN-F450R is a 1RU, half-rackspace unit designed to be more portable and easier to store than others of its type. The DN-F450R features balanced / unbalanced inputs and is also controllable via RS-232c and GPIO (General Purpose Input / Output), making it suitable for use in houses of worship, broadcast outfits, conference and meeting recordings, or any kind of fixed installation or sound contracting application.
The DN-F450R offers a simplified, cost competitive solid state recording and playback capability. Derived from the DN-F650R, the half rack size unit provides for recording and playback to and from SD and SDHC flash memory cards, with USB connectivity to PC for file management and transfer. Balanced analog inputs on XLR are featured alongside unbalanced I/O. Stereo and mono audio channels are simultaneously available, and PCM WAV and MP3 file formats are supported, at 48 / 44.1 kHz and 32 - 320 kbps. Serial and contact closure remote controls are supported, and a headphone out with volume control is included. Selectable playback modes, power on auto play, marking and mark search, audible quick search, and easy file search with the front panel jog wheel are all featured.Highlights
